Hi Everyone! I’m Bethany and I live in Alabama! I am a SAHM to Sarah and Sophie and I am a VIPKID Teacher. Before having my daughters, I was a K-2 teacher for 8 years. I have taught Kindergarten, First, and Second… but First Grade has my heart! ❤ I received my B.S. and M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and am a National Board Certified Teacher – Early Childhood-Generalist. I’m currently working on my application to graduate school to pursue my PhD in Early Childhood Education. I hope to begin work towards my doctoral degree in 2019. In my free time I enjoy creating teaching materials for teachers and students nationwide! While I do miss being in the classroom, I am loving this time at home with my daughters. I am still involved in the Education world through teaching ESL online to the sweetest students in China, blogging, creating resources, mentoring new teachers, reading books and other research, and continuously learning. A few more things about me that you’re sure to read about on my blog… I love my family, Auburn football, Atlanta Braves baseball, running, music, and Kauai. I have a running streak and have walked or ran one mile every day since October 15, 2017! I am currently training to complete my 2nd half marathon.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! In addition to teaching and running my businesses, I also have a passion for mentoring and helping others reach their goals. You will see that many of my posts will pertain to National Board Certification, as well as teaching methods for exploratory learning, play in the early grades, and utilizing technology in the classroom. My blog was first created to help students and parents stay informed of what was happening in our classroom. Since then, I have expanded my blog to include topics pertaining to teaching and learning and I have expanded my audience to include other educators. It is my hope that my blog will serve as a place of inspiration for you. I am excited to have you share in my journey! Take a look around and if you have any questions please contact me. I would love to hear from you!
